Throughout the history of photography, buildings have been highly valued photographic subjects, mirroring society’s appreciation for architecture and its cultural significance.

MICRO NATION is launching its very first architecture photography competition for all the photography enthusiasts out there. The theme being ‘MINIMALIST ARCHITECTURE ’.

What is MINIMALIST ARCHITECTURE?

Minimalist architecture, sometimes referred to as ‘minimalism’, involves the use of simple design elements, without ornamentation or decoration. Proponents of minimalism believe that condensing the content and form of a design to its bare essentials, reveals the true ‘essence of architecture’.Common characteristics of minimalist architecture include:

1. Proper geometric forms
2. Simple, limited and plain materials.
3. Neat and straight components.
4. Repetition to give a sense of order and unification.
5. Simple, open spaces.
6. ‘Clean’ lines.

OBJECTIVE

Capture the essence of minimalist architecture in photographs (maximum 3). The photographs should be self explanatory and communicative. Minimum editing is allowed ie; enhancing your photographs’ tones and tints.

Photo manipulation via adding elements or text is prohibited. All means of photography are allowed, be it mobile photography or DSLR capture.

(Participants can submit previously clicked photographs as well.)

Lightroom presets worth INR 10,000 will be awarded for lifetime usage.

All the participants will receive participating certificate.

NOTE: Second and third prizes will be top 50 and top 25 presets respectively from the winner’s collection.
